Global Health Catalyst win-win initiative:

The Global Health Catalyst  (GHC) summit @ Harvard is a premier yearly event bringing stake-holders from Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC) and High Income Countries (HIC) to develop win-win partnerships or collaborations to address the growing global burden of  cancer  and cancer disparities.

A major focus of the summit is to build win-win partnerships  for global health and  development. During the 2016 summit, the win-win session brought together industry leaders with institutions in low  and middle income countries (LMIC) to catalyze the establishment or expansion of cancer centers that can become hubs of excellence in  the LMIC. Some of the outcomes included:

  • The development of a roadmap  to establish a cancer centers in Kisumu and Mombasa, Kenya

  • A roadmap for the establishment of a radiotherapy facility at Mbingo in Cameroon, with ongoing progress to actually realize the project

In 2017, we will build on this progress to catalyze more win-win partnerships for industry and LMIC institution stake-holders in  a growing list of LMIC institutions  including:

  • Tanzania

  • Rwanda

  • Nigeria

  • South Africa

  • Kenya

  • Cameroon

  • Rwanda

  • Democratic Republic of Congo

  • Ivory Coast
